Overview

We are seeking a Marketplace Manager to lead the day-to-day management, optimisation, and growth of the brand's marketplace presence across major e-commerce platforms.

Reporting into the Growth function, this role will be responsible for ensuring marketplace excellence across catalogue management, digital shelf optimisation, inventory coordination, promotional execution, and commercial performance. The successful candidate will combine strong operational expertise with analytical capability to maximise visibility, conversion, and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

Marketplace Operations & Catalogue Management

Own the day-to-day management of marketplace operations across key retail and e-commerce platforms.

Maintain and optimise product listings to maximise visibility, search performance, and conversion rates.

Develop and implement SEO-driven product content, including titles, bullet points, product descriptions, and keyword strategies.

Partner with Brand and Creative teams to enhance product detail pages, premium content, and digital brand experiences.

Monitor marketplace health, compliance requirements, listing quality, and account performance to minimise disruptions and protect revenue.

Proactively resolve listing issues, content errors, and platform-related challenges to ensure uninterrupted trading.

Digital Shelf Optimisation

Take ownership of digital shelf performance and ongoing catalogue enhancement initiatives.

Monitor search rankings, product discoverability, and competitive positioning across marketplaces.

Identify opportunities to improve organic visibility through content optimisation, keyword performance, and platform best practices.

Ensure all product information remains accurate, compliant, and aligned with brand standards.

Inventory & Commercial Coordination

Partner closely with Supply Chain, Operations, and Commercial teams to maintain healthy inventory levels across all marketplace channels.

Support demand forecasting and inventory planning to minimise stock shortages and maximise sales opportunities.

Monitor product availability and proactively address potential supply challenges during key trading periods.

Support pricing governance and marketplace compliance to protect brand positioning and commercial performance.

Promotional Planning & Execution

Coordinate the execution of promotional campaigns, marketplace deals, and retail marketing initiatives.

Manage promotional set-up, implementation, and performance tracking across key trading events and seasonal campaigns.

Ensure all promotional activity is executed accurately and on schedule.

Collaborate with wider marketing teams to maximise visibility and campaign effectiveness.

Performance Analysis & Reporting

Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly marketplace performance metrics.

Analyse sales, traffic, conversion, search visibility, and catalogue health to identify growth opportunities.

Develop reporting frameworks and dashboards that provide clear performance insights to stakeholders.

Translate marketplace data into actionable recommendations that drive commercial improvements.

Support forecasting, business planning, and strategic decision-making through data analysis.

Competitive & Market Analysis

Monitor competitor activity, category trends, search performance, and emerging marketplace opportunities.

Utilise marketplace intelligence tools and platform analytics to identify areas for optimisation and growth.

Stay informed on platform updates, algorithm changes, and industry best practices.

Work closely with Growth and Marketing teams to ensure acquisition efforts align with inventory availability and marketplace priorities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner closely with Brand, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams.

Act as a central point of coordination for marketplace-related initiatives and priorities.

Support the alignment of marketplace strategy with broader business objectives.

Experience

Minimum 4+ years' experience managing marketplace channels within consumer goods, retail, e-commerce, or direct-to-consumer businesses.

Proven experience managing product catalogues, marketplace operations, and digital shelf optimisation.

Experience working with major online retail platforms and marketplace ecosystems.

Strong understanding of e-commerce trading principles, customer behaviour, and marketplace performance drivers.

Experience working with consumer brands, beauty, wellness, lifestyle, baby care, household goods, or related categories is highly desirable.

Technical & Analytical Skills

Strong knowledge of marketplace management platforms and seller tools.

Experience using marketplace analytics, keyword tracking, and performance optimisation tools.

Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability.

Solid understanding of marketplace SEO, product content optimisation, and conversion best practices.

Ability to analyse commercial performance data and develop actionable recommendations.
