Our client is seeking an accomplished and visionary Director, Global Product Marketing to lead strategic innovation and product storytelling on a global scale. This role is ideal for a seasoned leader with a strong marketing and development background, an entrepreneurial spirit, and the capacity to lead in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Shape and drive the creation of a three‑year global innovation and product strategy across professional, retail, DTC, and international channels, reinforcing brand equity while achieving business goals.
Maintain a high-level strategic vision while obsessing over detail - guiding product architecture, pricing, SKU rationalisation, and pipeline feasibility.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product development, marketing, education, regulatory, operations, and international markets to align innovation with market insights and commercial opportunity.
Drive new product launches, reformulations, and repackaging initiatives in line with brand, financial, and sustainability objectives, facilitating creative collaboration across functions.
Lead Stage-Gate meetings: oversee presentations of new launch updates and proposals, integrating input from finance and other stakeholders.
Monitor, manage, and optimize post-launch product performance, coordinating with go-to-market teams to update toolkits, PDP copy, and communications.
Develop and implement a strategic brand claims roadmap in partnership with regulatory and product development; lead Concept/Panel/HUT/Claims testing initiatives and analysis.
Drive COGs analysis to balance formula, packaging, sizing, and pricing decisions with financial targets and consumer expectations; collaborate on global pricing strategy.
Oversee artwork and packaging development, ensuring compliance with creative, regulatory, ESG, and regional requirements; manage timing and distribution to creative teams.
Lead the development of dynamic launch toolkits and PDP content including features, benefits, claims, ingredients, pricing, and packaging. Collaborate with global brand marketing, editorial, creative, and regulatory to ensure consistency across all touchpoints.
Conduct in-depth market, trend, and competitive analysis to identify white space opportunities and inform portfolio strategy; leverage consumer insights from social listening, CRM data, and sales.
Mentor and manage two Product Marketing Managers, fostering a culture of curiosity, creativity, accountability, and continuous learning. Provide clear strategic direction and support their growth and performance.
Candidate Profile:
10+ years of experience in Product Marketing & Development within beauty, cosmetics, or personal care; haircare and/or professional channel experience highly preferred.
At least 3 years of people management or supervisory experience with a track record of mentoring experienced talent.
Demonstrated expertise in global innovation, claims development, product storytelling, rooted in consumer and market insight.
Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and fluency with marketing analytics tools, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience partnering across R&D, Regulatory, Creative, Sales, Planning, and Education teams.
Entrepreneurial mindset, trend-savvy, comfortable with ambiguity, and capable of building scalable processes in fast-paced environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation development, and proficiency with tools like Asana, Slack, and SharePoint.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
