Overview
We are seeking a Direct Response Copywriter / Creative Strategist to drive customer acquisition performance through highly compelling direct response creative and strategic ad development.
This is a commercially focused role responsible for crafting high-converting copy, developing innovative creative strategies, and driving performance across paid social campaigns. You will play a key role in scaling customer acquisition by identifying winning messaging angles, analysing creative performance data, and collaborating closely with internal creative and growth teams.
This position suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced ecommerce environment, combines creative excellence with analytical thinking, and has a deep understanding of performance marketing psychology.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Response Copywriting
Craft high-converting direct response copy for paid social video advertising campaigns
Develop compelling hooks, body copy, and calls-to-action designed to maximise conversion performance
Iterate winning copy variations at scale to improve acquisition efficiency and performance
Creative Strategy Development
Develop creative strategies and campaign concepts informed by performance data and customer insights
Identify new messaging angles based on customer pain points and behavioural psychology
Create innovative creative frameworks designed to engage and convert target audiences
Performance Optimisation
Analyse campaign performance data to identify winning creative patterns and optimisation opportunities
Continuously refine creative output based on CPA, volume, CTR, conversion rates, and ROAS performance
Support testing initiatives to scale successful creative concepts efficiently
Creative Collaboration
Brief concepts and strategic direction to video editors and UGC creators
Collaborate closely with creative production teams to ensure strong execution of campaigns
Support consistent messaging across all paid and organic acquisition channels
Market & Commercial Strategy
Identify opportunities to expand reach through new messaging frameworks, creative formats, and audience segments
Build and maintain high-performing creative libraries and scalable copy frameworks
Provide creative insight and strategic recommendations to internal stakeholders
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with the Growth team to align creative output with acquisition targets
Collaborate with influencer and content teams to ensure messaging consistency across channels
Contribute to wider business growth initiatives and creative innovation projects
Qualifications
Minimum 1+ years’ experience writing high-converting direct response copy for ecommerce or DTC brands
Proven success developing creative strategies for paid social campaigns with significant Meta ad spend
Strong understanding of Meta advertising platforms and performance marketing creative best practices
Experience using campaign performance data to optimise copy and creative direction
Demonstrated proficiency using AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude to enhance creative productivity
Experience working within health, wellness, supplements, or consumer product brands is highly advantageous
