On behalf of our client, a growing and ambitious business with a strong track record of success, we are seeking a Finance Manager to take full ownership of day-to-day finance operations and lead the internal finance function.
This role is ideal for a hands-on, experienced finance professional who is ACCA or CIMA qualified, with a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience. The successful candidate will be confident in managing everything from bookkeeping and VAT returns to monthly management accounts and trial balance. They must also bring strong knowledge of import/export processes and compliance, and be willing to roll up their sleeves and work autonomously.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all day-to-day finance operations, including bookkeeping, VAT returns, and monthly management accounts
- Take full ownership of the trial balance, reconciliations, and reporting workflows
- Liaise with external accountants as needed, but work independently on core finance duties
- Manage cash flow reporting, financial planning, and budgeting processes
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting, tax, and import/export regulations
- Provide financial insight to support senior leadership decision-making
- Implement and maintain efficient internal controls and processes
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the business with a view toward stepping into a more senior finance leadership role
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will have:
- ACCA or CIMA qualification (or equivalent)
- A minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience in a finance role covering the full accounting cycle
- Proven ability to handle bookkeeping, VAT, and management accounts confidently and independently
- Experience working with import/export processes and international trading practices
- Strong working knowledge of accounting software and Excel
- A proactive, no-nonsense attitude and a willingness to be involved in both strategic and operational tasks
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- The ambition to grow with the business and progress into a Finance Director role
